Indigenous Peoples’ Voices on Biodiversity: Mr. Sokunthea Nun – Cambodia

Sokunthea Nun from Ratana Kiri Province in Cambodia currently holds the position of President at the Cambodia Indigenous Youth Association (CIYA).
CIYA, a member organization of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), has been dedicated to empowering and strengthening the capacity of Indigenous Youth in Cambodia since 2005. It proudly stands as the first indigenous youth organization in the country.

In a compelling video message, Mr. Sokunthea addresses the youth in Cambodia and beyond, urging them to develop their skills and abilities to become the leaders of future generations. He emphasizes the importance of embracing Indigenous Knowledge as a means of preserving our unique identities. To bring about positive changes within our communities, he emphasizes the significance of personal transformation. By changing our mindsets, we can become effective contributors to our communities and ultimately emerge as leaders.
