We’re proud to feature a new video by Highland Association (HA) and Indigenous Rights Active Members (IRAM)—members of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP)!

As part of the 2025 International Day for Biodiversity, Indigenous Youth from the Jarai and Kavet communities in Cambodia speak out loud and clear.

“It’s our responsibility to protect our culture, traditions, and natural resources.”

But that’s not all they’re saying. They’re raising concerns about:

The removal of “Indigenous Peoples” from Cambodia’s Environmental Code

The expansion of protected areas into their lands

Their message is clear: Conservation must not come at the expense of Indigenous rights. Indigenous Communal Land Title (ICLT) should also be registered based on the actual size of the land, not limited to only 7 hectares.
