A Karbi Girl’s Call to Protect Biodiversity
As part of AIPP’s #InternationalDayForBiodiversity celebration, we are honored to share the powerful voice of Ms. Lori Mirjili Teronpi, a Karbi Indigenous Girl from Assam, Northeast India.
Her words remind us: Indigenous wisdom is the key to true sustainability. When the world listens to the Earth’s original caretakers, humanity can rediscover harmony with nature.
Her full message:
“We, the Karbi children, celebrate the beauty of nature and our connection to the land. Our ancestors taught us to live in harmony with nature, respecting the balance of ecosystems.
We believe in preserving biodiversity for future generations. We promise to protect our forests, rivers, and wildlife, just as our elders have done for centuries.
Our traditional practices are rooted in sustainability. We learn from nature and take only what we need, ensuring the cycle of life continues.
Let’s work together to protect our planet. We, the Karbi children, pledge to be guardians of nature, promoting harmony and sustainable development.
Join us in our commitment to preserve biodiversity. Together, we can create a brighter future for all living beings.
Let’s live in harmony with nature.”
