Regional Capacity Building Programme

The Regional Capacity Building (RCB) Programme aims to empower indigenous leaders and organizations in Asia to promote and defend their rights, welfare and interests through capacity and skills building activities. The programme assists AIPP members and networks in strengthening their capacity in addressing issues confronting them through stronger collective leadership and better organizational management. The Indigenous Learning Institute (ILI) for Community Empowerment is the core activity of the RCB Programme. It undertakes capacity development activities for AIPP members and networks with the objective of empowering indigenous communities and organizations to exercise their collective rights and to address their needs.

Regional Exchange Workshop on UNDRIP and Human Rights Advocacy

The Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) conducted the Regional Exchange Workshop on UNDRIP and Human Rights Advocacy on 12-15 November 2013 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.  AIPP member-organisation Cambodia Indigenous Youth Association (CIYA) hosted the workshop which was participated by 25 participants (13 men and 12 women) from  member/partner-organizations from Cambodia, Nepal, Northeast India, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand. ILI/ICOLT Phase 1 Full Evaluation Report

ILI [Indigenous Learning Institute for community empowerment] of AIPP is a multi level regional in-peoples education and capacity building programme for indigenous community empowerment for its members and network organizations in Asia. Report on UNDRIP Trainings

AIPP initiated the community training programme on ‘Capacity building of Indigenous Peoples on the promotion of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)’ under the Regional Capacity Building (RCB) programme. The project was generously supported by the Christensen Fund (TCF). The training manual on the UNDRIP was developed and published in 2010. It was followed by the implementation of pilot trainings in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand among seven indigenous people’s organizations of AIPP members and networks. External Evaluation of the Indigenous Community Organizers and Leaders Training (ICOLT) Phase 1 project (A Regional Inter-Peoples Empowerment and Capacity Building Program among Indigenous Peoples in Asia)       The Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) Regional Capacity Building Programme will conduct an external field evaluation for the project on Indigenous Community Organizers and Leaders Training (ICOLT) project that was implemented among six indigenous peoples organizations in five countries between 2007- 2009.
