The Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) is a regional organization founded in 1988 as a platform for solidarity and cooperation among indigenous peoples in Asia. AIPP actively promotes and defends indigenous peoples’ rights and human rights, sustainable development and management of resources, as well as environment protection. For more details visit

The AIPP secretariat is currently strengthening its staff management systems and leadership. Part of this is strengthening its finance systems in compliance with international accounting standards, and ensuring transparency and accountability within the organization.

AIPP has multiple donors, projects and partners in the implementation of AIPP programmes. In this context, the Finance Officer to be hired will be responsible for the finance recording and reporting of multiple projects with different partners. The Finance Officer will work closely with the respective programme/project coordinators and Finance Manager to ensure compliance with AIPP finance policies and requirements for project management, as well as compliance with donor requirements and international accounting standards.

  1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing system in accordance with approved procedures;
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of the annual budget estimates;
  • Maintain cashbook;
  • Maintain bank accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements as designated;
  • Visit bank for bank transactions, opening new bank accounts, request bank certificate for visa, etc. as required;
  • Maintain and update the general ledger;
  • Prepare tax schedules;
  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with the finance and accounts guidelines;
  • Provide timely feedback, monitor and report on programme’s and projects’ compliance with the finance and accounting guidelines;
  • Prepare and review financial reports and statements of respective programmes and projects to donor agencies;
  • Respond to inquiries from donors and partners within agreed response time
  1. Minimum work requirements:
  • The applicant must be an Indigenous person from Thailand
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting


  • At least 3 year work experience on financial accounting
  • At least 1 year work experience in multiple project financial management
  • At least 1 year work experience with indigenous peoples organizations, or civil society organization/s or government agency

Skills and Abilities

  • Familiar and experienced in the use of Quickbook Accounting software
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS office
  • Good communication skills in written and verbal English
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, creative and energetic
  • Positive attitude to working in a multi-ethnic/social environment
  • Flexible to do multi-tasking and to work under pressure

III. Remuneration and benefits for the Finance Officer include:

  • Salary* and benefits including 13thmonth pay
